Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma (CFBEO) are the largest private hunger-relief organization in Eastern Oklahoma whose mission is to feed the hungry of Eastern Oklahoma and engage our communities in ending hunger.
Serving 450 Partner Programs in 24 counties of Eastern Oklahoma, their programs include emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, after-school programs and senior citizen centers. Nearly half of the food that is distributed to the hungry by these agencies comes from the Food Bank and together they feed 60,000 people per week. In 2011, they distributed 16.9 million pounds of food.
Almost 90 percent of the food CFBEO distributes is donated by local grocers and retailers, national food manufacturers, growers, and individuals and organizations that hold food drives. Since CFBEO relies heavily on such private contributions, ACT has partnered with CFBEO since 2011 and has since donated close to 1,000 lbs of food.
