What became a regional convention enjoying over 1,300 total attendees from Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Kentucky, Kansas, Arkansas, Colorado, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Iowa, and Minnesota in its first two years whose debut reportedly doubled that of Skepticon’s and the Texas Freethought Convention’s attendance combined which later evolved into a local humanitarian effort began humbly as an ACT Meetup with the hopes of bring the sister organizations of AOK and ACT together.

FreeOK 2011 was held at All Souls Unitarian Church on Saturday, July 30, 2011 and was hosted and presented by Atheist Community of Tulsa (ACT). 318 freethinkers were in attendance.

FreeOK 2012 was held at Tulsa Convention Center Assembly Hall on Saturday, June 23, 2012 and was co-hosted by Atheist Community of Tulsa (ACT) and Oklahoma Atheists (AOK) and presented by American Humanist Association. 505 freethinkers were in attendance.

FreeOK 2013 was held at the Cox Convention Center on Saturday, June 22, 2013. 564 freethinkers were in attendance.
